About the Patricia A. Duran School

Welcome to the Patricia A. Duran School, proudly serving students in grades PreK through 4 in the vibrant community of Hermon, Maine. For the 2024-2025 school year, we are honored to educate 461 bright and eager learners. Though we are one of the larger elementary schools in the region, we maintain a strong sense of community, fostering connections among students, staff, and families.

At the Duran School, our curriculum extends beyond core academic subjects. Our students explore their creativity, skills, and potential through engaging classes in music, art, library, physical education, guidance, and computer technology. To support diverse learning needs, we offer a variety of specialized services, including special education, Title I intervention, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, guidance counseling, and a Gifted and Talented program. These resources empower every child to thrive and achieve their best.

We are deeply committed to fostering a collaborative partnership between school and families. Family involvement is an essential ingredient in providing a high-quality educational experience. Together, we can create an environment that not only supports but inspires and challenges all students to excel.

At the Patricia A. Duran School, we look forward to building positive and meaningful relationships with our families as we work together to nurture the next generation of lifelong learners and leaders.
